I really like how the photographer framed that second photo. This is the car of an acquaintance. That person walked away with bruises and a DUI. So learn from other’s mistakes.

Glad he hit the post and not someone else.
Related note, I really hope (but doubt) that in scenarios like this the driver is billed to replace the pole.

In NC they are. I had to pay $700 out of pocket when I hit an interstate exit sign. I was sober (car stalled, brakes locked up, and slid forward instead of turning.

Times like these we should be grateful for all that new fangled stuff that increases the weight of our cars.

Not a smart move on their part...glad they are OK, but hope they learned a huge lesson...

God damn I imagine it takes alot to shear a telephone pole like that, unless it was rotting.

It happens. I knew some one who hit a road sign and got a 300 dollar bill to replace it. That was on a state highway tho

On the plus side, staying grounded to the ground is better than being up a pole. Glad they’re safe, and I hope they learn a lesson and share it with others.
